“I represent the country of Kazakhstan when we were able to convince FedEx to locate a major facility in that part of the world. It was a formidable initiative, but one that was immensely rewarding for the company and the country.

Upon Finalizing the deal, we held a press conference at the American Embassy in Kazakhstan, with high-ranking political figures and the President of FedEx. Barely into the announcement and remarks, we noticed members of the media dispersing-making their way outside onto the embassy lawn. We came to realize, Sacha Baron Cohen, in his character of Borat, was upstaging us with a press conference of his own.

While we lost the room that day, the event garnered international attention. It brings a smile to my face every time I think about it.”
